Day 34, Thursday, July 2, 2026: Building the Palisade…
Thursday morning turned out to be cooler than the prior week and we could see the clouds building up early. The crew started work around 8:30 am this day with their focus on the upper bridge landing and the lower embankment where they’d left off work yesterday. D and P2 started by building up what D calls a ‘Palisade’. P continued to carve out the upper landing from the bridge to the upper path. Y watered all the new plants, and took the second Corkscrew Rush out of the quarantine and into the lower pond’s Bog filter. Y also moved the Mare’s Tail from the upper Bog filter into a container in the lower pond given how happy the other two Mare’s Tails seemed to be when placed directly in the pond vs in gravel. Overall, we made good progress on the embankment wall and put in some steps by the East side of the bridge, which we will continue to build out tomorrow!
